Summary
Malcolm Fraser was leader of the Liberal Party of Australia from March 1975 to May 1983. He was sworn in as caretaker Prime Minister as a result of the Whitlam dismissal in November 1975; secured the role in Federal elections held the following month; and served three terms as Prime Minister before losing government at the 1983 Federal elections. He resigned from Parliament soon after the defeat.
