Summary

This survey was conducted for the Age and for Professor Louis Opit and the School of Social Medicine at Monash University. The survey questionnaire was distributed to 5000 Victorians randomly selected from the electoral roll (with a survey return rate of 34%) and 3500 recent school leavers from a cross section of independent, private and state schools.
